The principles guiding the development of APSCB's assessment and certification framework.
A defined scope for every credential.
A professional credential should make clear what has been assessed. APSCB's framework is being developed around documented knowledge requirements, practical performance criteria, and evidence that supports each certification decision.
Fairness throughout assessment.
The intended framework applies the same certification requirements to all eligible candidates, regardless of their training provider. Assessor conflicts must be identified and managed. A candidate's own trainer must not be the sole unchecked decision-maker for certification.
Qualified review. Documented decisions.
Subject specialists will need to review each assessment scheme before it opens. Practical evidence, examination security, assessor responsibilities, reasonable accommodations, and review arrangements must be defined in the final handbook.
Clear review and appeal routes.
Before assessments become available, the candidate handbook will explain how to request an accommodation, raise a concern, or appeal a certification decision, including deadlines and any applicable fees.
Recognition stated accurately.
APSCB does not currently claim government approval, third-party accreditation, or universal employer recognition. Any future recognition will be identified by the awarding organisation, the specific credential covered, and the applicable scope.
