The American Professional Skills Certification Board is developing professional skills certification pathways with published scopes, assessment requirements, and credential verification.
PURPOSE
Assessment against a defined professional standard.
APSCB is developing certification pathways that assess relevant knowledge and practical skills. The intended purpose of each credential is to state what its holder has demonstrated against that pathway’s published requirements.
Training completion and certification are different. A course certificate, school enrolment, or expression of interest does not by itself establish eligibility or earn an APSCB credential.
CURRENT STATUS
The first pathways are still in development.
The initial Nail Technician and Makeup Artistry pathways are being developed. Their final eligibility rules, assessment blueprints, fees, dates, candidate handbook, and appeal process are not yet published. Candidate registration, examinations, and payments are not open.
School enquiries are expressions of interest only. Submitting one does not make a school an approved partner or book an assessment.
RECOGNITION
Credential scope is stated carefully.
APSCB does not claim government approval, third-party accreditation, or universal employer recognition. APSCB is not a professional licensing authority, and an APSCB credential does not automatically replace a licence, national qualification, or an employer’s requirements.
Anyone considering a credential for employment, licensing, migration, or further study should check with the organisation that will receive it.
ACCOUNTABILITY BEFORE LAUNCH
Details to be published before assessments open.
Before candidate registration or assessment bookings open, APSCB will publish the responsible legal operating entity and jurisdiction, official contact details, governance and assessment oversight arrangements, any relationships with training providers, final pathway specifications, fees, candidate terms, privacy information, and procedures for accommodations, complaints, reassessment, and appeals.
These details matter to candidates and employers, so the public service will not be presented as open while those launch materials remain incomplete.
